New Eredivisie Match Ball Celebrates 70 Years of Football Excitement!

With the message “Our Football. Our Excitement.”, translated from the Dutch slogan “Ons Voetbal. Ons Plezier.”, the focus is not only on the game itself, but also on the memorable moments that have connected generations of football fans for 70 years, ever since the ball first rolled on September 2, 1956 in the Home of Dutch Football.

“Football excitement lives in emotion, the hope, the anticipation and sometimes even the disappointment,” says Jan de Jong, CEO of Eredivisie CV. “Every football fan recognises the feeling of a nutmeg on the street, scoring a goal with or against your friends, or the tension just before kick-off in a stadium. The ball brings us together. One small planet with an incredible power of attraction. The new official Eredivisie match ball is a tribute to 70 years of professional football and everything that makes the game so incredibly exciting.”

The introduction of the new match ball starts on Friday, May 15 with a launch video in Dutch. The video brings together recognisable football moments, from streets and amateur grounds to iconic images from the past.

The new official match ball will make its debut on Sunday, May 17 during Matchday 34 and will also be used throughout the play-offs for European football.
