53.8% of all players have received at least one vote
It is not just the sheer number of votes that stands out – the variety is remarkable too. So far, 4,310 different players have received at least one vote. That means 53.8% of all players to have ever featured in the (VriendenLoterij) Eredivisie have already earned a place on at least one fan's list.
From legendary names such as Johan Cruijff, Willem van Hanegem and Ronaldo to players including Frits Flinkevleugel, Daan Schrijvers and Kalusha Bwalya. And it is not only former greats who are proving popular: players who have made their mark in more recent years are also featuring prominently in the rankings. Jens Toornstra, Davy Klaassen, Bryan Linssen, Ismael Saibari and Jordy Clasie all feature on plenty of lists. The same goes for club favourites and cult heroes such as Bram van Polen, Tom Beugelsdijk and Nathan Rutjes.
