Anis Hadj Moussa has been named Eredivisie Player of the Month for May. The Feyenoord attacker wins the award for the first time.
Three goals
Anis Hadj Moussa enjoyed a strong final month of the season with Feyenoord. Following the victory over Fortuna Sittard (1–2), the Rotterdam side secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League league phase with a draw against AZ (1–1). The season was then concluded with a win away at PEC Zwolle (0–2).
The 24-year-old Algerian found the net against both AZ and PEC Zwolle. In Zwolle, the winger scored both goals himself. That brought the Algerian international’s tally this season to eleven goals and six assists in thirty league appearances - making it the most productive campaign of his career.
In addition, Hadj Moussa recorded the most touches in the opposition penalty area in May (33), delivered the most crosses (34), and created the second-highest number of chances (13). The Feyenoord attacker also completed fifteen dribbles and, alongside Gjivai Zechiël, was involved in the highest number of shot involvements (22).
First Player of the Month award
For Anis Hadj Moussa, this is his first Player of the Month award in the Eredivisie. He becomes the third Feyenoord player to win the prize this season, following Jordan Bos (September) and Ayase Ueda (October).
